“My car was really fast. I probably should have got the gas down a little bit sooner, but woulda, shoulda, coulda. I’ve got a really fast car and I’m really happy. The guys worked hard. It looks like we’ve come back from our incident at Las Vegas and we’re gonna have a good run.”
CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Scotts Ford Fusion (Qualified 1st)

“We’ve got to keep this thing rolling. This is fun. The cars have just been great. For me and Greg to be up there sitting on the front row, I mean Greg motivated me. I didn’t think anybody was gonna be able to go that fast. I thought that the track had slowed down a lot more than that, so I was out there driving my heart out. I had my volume turned down too far, so I couldn’t hear Bob the first lap. I thought, ‘Man, we must not be fast. He hasn’t said anything.’ I don’t know what the times were exactly, but my second lap was petrifying. I was driving for all I could, but this is fun. It’s a Scotts weekend here and it’s cool to have the Scotts car on the pole right now.”
WHAT ABOUT RACING HERE ON SUNDAY? “Racing here is gonna be very tough because everyone is the same speed. It’s gonna be really tough. There are gonna be guys running up by the fence, guys on the bottom, I just hope we can stay out front. That pit stall will help. Track position is gonna be huge.” DID IT FEEL LIKE A PERFECT LAP? “No, that was not a perfect lap. The front end was sliding in the center and the rear was sliding off the corner, but the car is just fast. The track slowed down quite a bit from practice. I was driving hard. My hands are still a little shaky right there from that one.”

Roush-Fenway & Ford Unveil new Ford Mustang Stck Car

Following Tuesday's teaming of Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing and Con-way Freight to unveil the No. 16 Con-way Freight Mustang in concord, N.C., driver Colin Braun posed with his new ride. "I have been a Mustang owner and enthusiast for many years myself so this is an exciting day to see this car racing in NASCAR,” said car owner Jack Roush.

Roush-Fenway Racing's Colin Braun crouches next to the rear of the No. 16 Con-way Freight Mustang that he will drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series 2010 series. “I’m so happy that Con-way Freight decided to move up with me to the Nationwide Series for 2010,” Braun said. “They have been a great sponsor for the past two years in the truck series so it means a lot to me that they will continue to support me in the future. I’m also looking forward to driving a Mustang next year."

Team: No. 6 Con-way Freight True LTL Ford F-150
Crew Chief: Mike Beam
Chassis: RK-43 Last outing: Nashville ‘09
where Braun finished third
Braun on racing at Chicagoland:
“I have some experience at Chicago since I ran an ARCA race there in 2007 and finished third. It’s a great track and I’m really looking forward to it. We always seem to run well at the 1.5-mile tracks, and we’re taking one of my favorite trucks. It’s the truck we won Michigan with and it also finished third at Nashville earlier this month. We’ve moved up to seventh in points now and we’re not that far out of fifth so a good run at Chicago would really be great for the Con-way Freight True LTL team. I think Chicago has great potential for
our second win of the season.”
Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Chicagoland:
“This will be the first truck race at Chicago, but luckily we have some good information to work with from our Nationwide teammates who raced there in July. I went to that race just to observe and see how the track changed throughout the race, and what worked for their set-ups. It will be different since we are running at night, but any
extra information we can have for a new track is helpful.”
FAST FACTS:
-Braun will be racing chassis RK-43 at Chicago. This is the same truck that he finished third with at Nashville earlier this month, and also got his first win with at Michigan in June.
-Although seventh in points, Braun ranks in the top five in almost every key statistical category. He has a driver rating of 94.8 (fifth-best), an average running position of 9.58 (fourth-best), third of drivers in laps in the top 15 with a percentage of 84.4 (2041 laps) and seventh in laps led with 93 laps.
-The Con-way Freight team gained two positions in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points after Bristol to move up to seventh. Braun and the team are now 82 points out of fifth.

COLIN BRAUN TO PILOT NO. 16 3M FORD FUSION AT CIRCUIT GILLES VILLENEUVE
Photo By Dan Peters (Iowa 2009)
CONCORD, N.C. (August 24, 2009) - Colin Braun will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start of the season this weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Braun will be behind the wheel of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, the same car he drove in five NNS events last year. This will
be Braun’s first race at the 2.71-mile road course. The 20-year-old Camping World Truck Series regular practiced the 3M Ford Fusion for Greg Biffle in this race last year.
“I’ve been looking forward to going to Montreal all year,” said Braun. “I had a lot of fun practicing the 3M Ford Fusion last year but to be honest, it was pretty hard to step aside when Greg got there and watch him race. I’m really excited that I get to run the race this year. It’s my only Nationwide Series start of the season so it’s important to make it count and hopefully get this team their fourth win of the year.”
Earlier in his career Braun spent four years running in various road course racing series, including Pro Mazda, Formula TR and Rolex Grand AM.

Roush Fenway Kicks Off Chase at Chicagoland
After another strong performance at Richmond, Roush Fenway rolls into Chicagoland looking for its first win at the 1.5-mile track, where the organization will look to break through after four runner-up finishes in NASCAR action.
Looking for the ‘W’
Chicagoland is the only current track on the NASCAR circuit, that hosts multiple series, where Roush Fenway has never won. Currently Roush has fielded 82 entries at Chicagoland, while putting up 16 top-five finishes, 32 top-10s and two poles.
Close But…
While never having won at Chicagoland, Roush Fenway has finished runner up on four occasions in NASCAR action at the track (twice in the Sprint Cup and twice in the Nationwide Series).
Cup Action at Chicagoland
Roush Fenway has fielded 48 entries in the Sprint Cup Series at Chicagoland, earning 14 top 10s and four top fives, while leading 438 laps. It, along with Indianapolis and now Kentucky, is one of just three active tracks where Roush Fenway has yet to post a win in Cup action. Matt Kenseth has finished runner up in the Cup race on two occasions for Roush Fenway (2005 and 2007), while Kenseth and Carl Edwards notched a two-three finish there in 2007.
The Nationwide Series at Chicagoland
Roush Fenway has made a total of 33 starts in the Nationwide Series at Chicagoland, posting 16 top-10 finishes and 10 top fives. The company has led 366 laps in NNS action at the track and finished runner up on two occasions (Edwards in 2006 and Kenseth in 2007).
The Runner Up
Matt Kenseth has finished second on three occasions at Chicagoland; twice in the Sprint Cup Series (2005 and 2007) and once in the Nationwide Series (2007). In fact, Kenseth came just one place short in each race from sweeping the track in both series in 2007.
The Chase is On
Roush Fenway moves into this year’s Chase to the Sprint Cup, with both Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth in the 12-car field. Kenseth is seeded fourth (six points behind first), while Edwards is fifth (-9). The organization has fielded at least two cars in each of its eight years of existence. In 2005, Roush Fenway occupied one half of the 10-car field and in 2004 the organization won the inaugural Chase. In addition, Roush Fenway has placed 22 entries in the Chase field since its inception.

Roush Yates' Ford FR9 engines powered Carl Edwards and teammate Greg Biffle to the top two qualifying positions, respectively, during pole qualifying for Sunday's Jeff Byrd 500 at the Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway.
Edwards' run of 14.989 seconds (128.014 mph) was his second No. 1 qualifying effort of the season and ninth of his career. In addition to Biffle's 15.035-sec. second-place effort, Roush Fenway Racing teammate David Ragan qualified fifth - placing Roush Yates' FR9 engines in three of the top five starting positions for Sunday.
"This is another extremely positive day for Ford Racing and Roush Yates Engines," said Doug Yates, CEO. "The talents of many individuals come out in engines like these when you get to a short track like a Bristol (.533 mi) where mistakes and differences in engine power are easily magnified. The talent inside Roush Yates that designed and continues to build these FR9 engines for all Ford teams week to week - and the true driving expertise of people like Carl and Greg who know how to make these engines perform the way they're intended - has gotten us off to a great start in 2011. I'm also very pleased that our engines have performed extremely well across a variety of track configurations so far this season."

Roush Fenway Hits One Million-Mile Mark in NASCAR Sprint Cup Action
Roush Fenway cars to run commemorative decal this week at Indy
On February 14, 1988 Jack Roush launched into his first official foray into the big-time world of NASCAR racing. The day would be a short one – lasting just under 50 of the scheduled 500 miles of the world’s biggest race. It was a humble beginning for what would grow into one of the most successful organizations in professional sports. Today - almost 25 years later - Roush Fenway Racing has covered over one million miles in Sprint Cup action, enough miles to cover the Earth 40 times over.
“You sure can’t say that it has come without its bumps,” said team owner Jack Roush. “There has been a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears that have been poured into that milestone. There have been a lot of drivers, crew chiefs and crew guys that put in a great deal of work in order for us to be as successful as we have been during that stretch and to be able to sustain that type of longevity.”
The miles were turned by 16 different Cup drivers over a 23-plus year period. During that span, Roush Fenway has fielded 2,688 Sprint Cup entries, captured 116 wins, while collecting 632 top fives, 1102 top 10s and 65 poles. The organization has churned 768,810 laps, leading 32,754 laps along the way, while capturing two championships and finishing the season top two on nine occasions.
The team has won the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600, the Southern 500 and will look to build on that heritage this weekend when it looks for an elusive win in the Brickyard 400 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Roush Fenway has finished runner-up at Indy on four occasions.

FASTENAL TO SPONSOR CARL EDWARDS IN NATIONWIDE SERIES
BEGINNING IN 2010
Concord, N.C. (August 24, 2009) - Roush Fenway Racing announced that they have signed Fastenal to a multi-year contract to sponsor Carl Edwards in the Nationwide Series beginning in 2010. Fastenal, North America’s largest fastener distributor and one of the world’s
fastest-growing full-line industrial suppliers, will appear on the No. 60 Ford for 15 races in 2010. As a long-time Fastenal customer, Edwards is looking forward to representing the brand.
"I'm really excited about the partnership with Fastenal,” said Edwards. “It's special to me, because in 1999 the local Fastenal store in Columbia, Missouri was nice enough to let me bring in one of my first sponsorship proposals that I had ever given to anyone. They met
with me and they treated me like a professional and I worked out a sponsorship deal with them. I used their storage bins, fasteners, drill bits and rivets for years on all my dirt cars. We won two track championships. I was really proud of that first sponsorship and I am
proud to be back with them in the Nationwide Series. That's going to be neat."
Edwards, the 2007 Nationwide Series champion, has posted 22 career Nationwide wins since 2005 and is eagerly anticipating his sixth full-time season in the Nationwide Series next year. The partnership
will kick off at Daytona in February of 2010 when the Nationwide Series visits the 2.5-mile tri-oval for the season opener.
“Fastenal is proud to sponsor Carl Edwards and the No. 60 team beginning in 2010,” said Cory Jansen, executive vice president marketing of Fastenal. “Carl’s on-track success and longstanding support of Fastenal makes him the perfect representative for our brand.
We are looking forward to an exciting championship run with Carl and the entire No. 60 Fastenal team next year.”
